Since 2015, SJH has served as subconsultant under this $4M term contract to provide Special Inspection services to New York City, Parks and Recreation, Capital Projects Division. The contract’s scope of work includes all necessary field inspection activities required in connection with the construction or reconstruction of various park facilities and structures with a construction value of under $3M. Our team verifies and documents that all work and materials are in compliance with Contract Documents, NYC Building Code and the applicable Rules of the City of New York. The scope of work also includes the preparation, filing and furnishing of all NYC DOB specified Technical Reports, inspection reports, and other necessary documents, with all required signatures and seals. These inspections are identified by the DOB at the time of Plan Approval, and also include Required Items for Permits and the final sign-off prior to the DOB issuance of Certificate of Occupancy.
SJH provided a Commercial Mechanical Inspector for boiler room piping and HVAC duct installation inspections on systems as built by contractors. Boiler pressure and startup tests for are performed on gas fired systems. SJH reviews contract and shop drawings and specifications. All completed inspection reports are filed with the NYC Parks and Recreation Department to allow contractors to continue with work. Installations meet current NYC building codes.

- Special Inspection Services in Relation to the Reconstruction of the Boiler & HVAC System at the Litchfield Villa Annex located at Prospect Park, Borough of Brooklyn
- Special Inspection Services in Relation to the Reconstruction of the Boilers and Heating System at the Pelham Fritz Recreation Center West, opposite West 122nd Street, in the Marcus Garvey Park, Borough of Manhattan
- Reconstruction of the Boiler and Pool Dehumidification System at the Asser Levy Bathhouse, located east of Asser Levy Place between East 23rd and East 25th Streets, New York, NY
