PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The State University of New York at New Paltz developed a parking lot to accommodate up to 261 parking spaces, and an Access Walk. Under this assignment, SJH reviewed the overall parking lot and access walk design plans, and designed the site lighting for new parking, roads and pedestrian walkways. The work included circuiting and voltage drop calculations, signal and power for new campus blue light emergency phones, signal and power to new security camera locations, light fixtures and blue light foundations, and providing calculations for Photometrics.

Our designs indicate the location and type of lighting, power source, size of transformers, and schedule for panel boards and light fixtures. Guidelines with the electrical codes were coordinated with site electrical and show proposed methods of service for electrical power, telephone, data and site lighting. The engineers verified points of connection and capacity; indicated any major transformers and transformer substations, switchboards, and distribution panels. SJH participated during all phases of design and provided construction support services during construction.
