PROJECT DESCRIPTION

New York City’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) rolled out OMNY, a new contactless payment platform that allowed bus and subway riders to pay for transit with the tap of a credit card, debit card, or smartphone, replacing the magnetic stripe MetroCard system. The entire project cost approximately $618M, including updates to turnstiles and payment systems. SJH provided a Construction Manager to support the project by performing the following tasks:

  • Worked with the senior management team to coordinate all aspects of project management.

  • Oversaw procedures to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.

  • Performed visual field inspections and documented installation for compliance with contract documents.

  • Organized, planned, and recorded minutes for bi-weekly project progress meetings.

  • Prepared daily reports and provided updates to other managers regarding any field issues.
