I-78 Resurfacing

SJH provided Construction Inspection and Supervision of this $26M dollar project. This project included milling and resurfacing of I-78, striping, guiderail installation and other safety improvements for over 15 miles of mainline. Most of the work was performed at night. SJH inspected asphalt resurfacing, striping and guide rail installation.

In addition, several bridge decks were inspected and repaired. The bridge decks were sounded by our inspectors to identify the delaminated areas, and partial depth and full depth repairs performed. Contractor’s traffic safety procedures and installation of lane closures were closely monitored for compliance with the contract drawings, specifications and lane closure hours.

Conceptual studies, feasibility reports, environmental studies, traffic studies, corridor studies, sketches, drawings, maps and plans were also provided for this project.
