The $18M Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Centennial Park pedestrian bridge became the new gateway to Centennial Park in Buffalo, NY. The 277-foot-long, 26-foot-wide tied arch bridge was considered a key infrastructure element within the $63M renovation of the 91-acre waterfront park. SBP designed the pedestrian bridge to connect the 4th Street Park and the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Centennial Park (formerly LaSalle Park). The bridge crossed over Hudson Street, making it safer for pedestrians and traffic. By reimagining the entrance to the park, this solution improved accessibility and safety over I-190. SJH provided electrical design services to artfully light the pedestrian bridge.
