Description:

SJH Engineering, P.C. (SJH) is a full-service consulting engineering firm, with offices in New York, NY, Princeton, NJ, and Alpharetta, GA. We are seeking a full-time, on-site Senior Inspector to join our team in the New York area. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to excellence to oversee and ensure the success of our projects. Responsibilities: • Supervise construction and engineering projects to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, codes, and standards. • Conduct detailed inspections and evaluations of materials, methods, and workmanship to ensure adherence to contract requirements. • Keep accurate and detailed records of the contractor’s performance and progress including delivery of materials. • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to address and resolve issues. • Ensure projects comply with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. • Identify potential challenges and propose solutions to keep projects on schedule and within budget. • Enforce adherence to safety protocols and promote a safe working environment. • Maintain a daily log of construction and inspection activities. • Responsible for monitoring the progress and quality of all aspects of construction. • Compute monthly estimates of work completed and review payment for contractors. • Examine the workmanship of completed construction for conformity to project specifications and applicable construction codes. Qualifications: • NICET III, or Professional Engineer with 10- 15 years of relevant experience • Experience on NYSDOT, NYCDOT, and NJDOT infrastructure projects is a plus. • Training in Work Zone Traffic Control • Nuclear Gauge Testing Certification • ACI Certifications • OSHA 30-Hour Certification • Nuclear Gauge Radiation Safety and U.S. DOT Hazardous Material (HazMat) Training • Basic computer skills required.
