SJH Engineering, P.C. (SJH) is a full-service consulting engineering firm, with offices in Princeton, NJ, New York, NY, and Alpharetta, GA. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented NICET IV Resident Engineer to join our Construction Inspection/Construction Management team. The ideal candidate will apply NICET IV-level knowledge to ensure quality and compliance in design, installation, and maintenance projects. This role demands technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and an ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities: • Conduct quality checks to ensure compliance with plans and specifications. • Experience on projects for clients such as NYSDOT, NYCDOT, NYSTA, NYCDDC, MTA, or NCDPW a plus. • Support the installation, inspection, and testing of systems or infrastructure. • Ensure adherence to safety, regulatory, and technical standards. • Maintain accurate project records, including calculations, permits, and testing logs. • Generate detailed reports and provide recommendations for system improvements. • Work closely with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to meet project timelines and deliverables. • Provide technical guidance and support to junior staff and technicians. • Stay updated on relevant codes, standards, and best practices in the field. • Ensure all work aligns with local, state, and national regulations. Requirements: • Active NICET Level IV certification. • Additional certifications (e.g. OSHA, TCP, ACI) are a plus. • Minimum 8 years of professional experience in a related field. • Demonstrated experience with [specific systems, tools, or software]. • Knowledge of specific standards (e.g. MUTCD, SiteManager) • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities. • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
