SJH’s Director of Engineering & Senior Vice President, Jing Kang, PE, DBIA, presented at ASHE NY Metro’s Small Project of the Year Award Event on February 18, 2025. During this event, Jing Kang, along with Christopher Sarmiento (Structural Engineer, Dewberry), and Romolo De Santis, PE (Senior Vice President, Program Executive & Chief Engineer, MTA C&D Bridges and Tunnels BU) discussed their efforts on the award-winning CB-30 Design-Build Rehabilitation of the MTA B&T Rockaways Bridges. According to the ASHE NY Metro’s panel of judges, “CB-30” stood out among a highly competitive field due to it’s complexity, innovative approach, social/economic considerations, safety, aesthetics, and sustainable features as well as exceeding established goals.” SJH’s work on the Marine Parkway Bridge featured the installation of prototype aluminum deck panels and the replacement of finger joints.
