PROJECT DESCRIPTION

SJH was awarded a three-year IDIQ contract to provide condition surveys of PANYNJ facilities. During the course of the contract, concurrent tasks were assigned, and SJH demonstrated the capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Tasks included:

Condition Survey of the Holland Tunnel Sign and Lighting Structures SJH provided a condition assessment of over three hundred at-grade signs, including overhead sign structures and lighting poles at the Holland Tunnel Facility. Lane closures were coordinated with the PANYNJ and local townships. The inspection was 100% visual and 10% hands-on.

Condition Survey of Teleport Building II and Façade of Teleport Building I SJH conducted the inspection and condition survey of the building elements of these two buildings. Due to the reconfiguration of tenant spaces, several drawings had to be prepared from the basic layout. Inspections were coordinated with tenants, with some conducted during nighttime hours and weekends.

Buildings 2814, 2815, 2920, and 2921 at Bathgate Industrial Park These buildings were occupied by tenants, and coordination was necessary to complete inspections. SJH inspected ceiling connections and configurations in suspended ceiling areas. In some areas, light fixtures were removed to inspect above-ceiling conditions. Location plans were developed using AutoCAD based on archived as-built drawings and field inspection data.

Six Buildings at the EWR Airport Security escorts were provided for access to airside areas. Suspended ceiling inspections were performed in several buildings where non-compliance with PANYNJ’s Ceiling Design Guidelines was observed. Façades were inspected using a 125-ft. manlift and bucket truck in select areas. Several safety concerns were noted, including settled sidewalks.

Bathgate Industrial Park High Mast Lighting Poles and Building 4006 SJH performed structural integrity inspections of ten high mast lighting structures and Building 4006 at the Bathgate Industrial Park. The building, a vacant two-story structure, was inspected along with surrounding sidewalks. Deteriorations were categorized as Safety, Routine, Priority, and Immediate Action. Field notes were converted into CAD sketches, and the final report was prepared.
