As the sole design consultant for National Environmental Safety Company, Inc, (NESCO), a NY City based General Contractor with over $50M in annual construction contracts, SJH provided numerous designs to address field conditions and design modifications for various academic facilities in NY. Projects were managed by the NY City School Construction Authority (NYCSCA) and our designs were compliant with the Authority’s requirements, standards and guidelines. Several design tasks were run concurrently under compressed schedules, especially during the summer time and during school vacations. Designs were completed on an accelerated time frame. The tasks have included designs for academic dining facilities, auditoriums, training facilities, academic labs, and mechanical equipment rooms. Our designs started with a field visit to assess the field condition, review of the existing condition related to the design plans, concept development, design development and the preparation of final details for construction.
