SJH served as a subconsultant to Transystems on this condition survey task order contract for the routine inspection of 102 high mast lighting structures at John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) in Queens, New York. SJH participated in the mobilization, data review, inspection, and condition survey report. Our structural engineer conducted 100% hands-on inspection of the high mast lighting. For each structure, we took a minimum of four measurements of ultrasonic thickness at the base of the lighting structures. Measurements of the original pole thickness were then compared with the base thickness.
All inspection work conformed to the requirements of the PA Quality Assurance Guidelines for condition Surveys of Sign and Lighting Structures. Our final reports with photographic documentation and AutoCAD drawings were in full compliance with Authority standards.
