Median Crossover Protection Contract No. 10, ESBE Set Aside

Project Description

This project involved constructing a positive barrier in between the Northbound and Southbound roadways of I-95 and Route 18 to prevent errant vehicles from crossing the median into oncoming traffic.  The bulk of this project consisted of constructing non-vegetative surfaces, removal of damaged guiderails, installation of new guiderails, guiderail end terminals, sidewalks and extensive maintenance and protection of traffic (MPT).

We provided an Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE) and a Roadway Inspector for this project.  The Roadway Inspector monitored the progress of work to assure construction was completed in compliance with NJDOT specifications. The ARE entered all quantities and reports into the NJDOT ACES system, reviewed change order requests and generated monthly payment estimates.

The SJH team also calculated as-built quantities and prepared as-built plans.
